Shalom Zichron Yaacov!

Shalom Zichron Yaacov!  We are delighted to begin this blog in order to share information and news about our lovely town, located at the edge of the Carmel Mountains facing the Mediterranean Sea. So many people – friends and guests of our bed and breakfast – ask us to tell them about the story of Zichron and how to plan their vacation here – that we have decided to go online, and leave my tattered folder of clippings and brochures on the shelf.

Zichron Yaacov, Israel (also spelled Zichron Yaakov, Zihkron Yakov, Zichron Yawacov, Zichron Ya’aqov and many other variations…) is located about an hour’s drive north of Tel Aviv, and about a half hour’s drive south of Haifa.

The ShalomZichron bed and breakfast (called a “zimmer” in Hebrew) is a studio apartment with an amazing view of the Sea. Our guests enjoy the brilliant sunsets from their rocking chairs on the porch that leads to a private garden shaded by olive trees.

The apartment includes a complete, fully stocked kitchenette and private bathroom. The studio comfortably sleeps 2 adults, with the option of renting an additional adjacent bedroom with half bath. Kids are welcome, and additional mattresses and bedding are available upon request.

  1. Kate Muchnick Says:

Shalom Zichron was a home away from home for us. The apartment is lovely and the yard has an incredible view. It was relaxing to come back and watch the sunset in the evening over the ocean. The bed was extremely comfortable (which is hard to find in Israel) and the apartment is just a short walk from the charming downtown area. Martha was a consummate hostess and planned three days of local adventures for us, including wineries, ancient ruins and a trip to the artists village. We will certainly visit again and would recommend the place to anyone.” ~ Kate & Barry Muchnick, USA
